TNT Express UK and Europe have been one of the major success stories in the national and international express parcels and distribution industry.
Now owned by Federal Express, TNT enjoyed unprecedented growth in the early 1980s when it launched TNT Overnite, the first ever next-day delivery service in the UK.
Century was appointed exclusively as its PR partner to raise the profile of its extensive range of services in the UK .
Indeed the ongoing success of TNT’s PR campaign in the UK subsequently attracted the attention of the company's European directors resulting in Century PR being appointed to manage TNT Express Europe’s press relations and press events in most major European countries.
The partnership became very successful with Century driving a number of high profile initatives including writing and winning the Motor Transport Haulier of the Year award, which was TNT’s first ever major industry accolade. This was subsequenly followed by a succession of other prestigious awards.
Century's innovative approach came to the fore when it organised TNT’s sponsorship of Coventry City FC in the 1987 Cup Final with the team wearing tracksuits promoting the TNT logo in front of a worldwide television audience of millions.
The successful partnership between Century PR, TNT Express UK and TNT Europe lasted over eight years – a period in which awareness of the TNT brand reached unprecedented levels. So much so that the organisation’s CEO at the time commented that many people assumed the organisation was investing heavily in advertising when in fact the company's marketing effort was totally focused on its successful and measurable PR campaign through Century.
